Democrats are working to widen their power in the wake of the Capitol Hill events, claiming many GOP Senators instigated “riots” by expressing their intent to object electoral votes.
Specifically, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is calling for Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Josh Hawley (R-MO) to resign claiming that their intent to object to the electoral votes. These votes have been widely disputed by many Americans, and their support mirrors the concerns of their constituents. This is an attempt for the left to use these events to gain more power.
Ocasio-Cortez was quoted saying, ““Sen. Cruz, you must accept responsibility for how your craven, self-serving actions contributed to the deaths of four people yesterday. And how you fundraised off this riot. Both you and Senator Hawley must resign. If you do not, the Senate should move for your expulsion.”
This is a clear attempt by the left to try to remove GOP Senators that were fairly elected and continue to stand for conservative values. Senator Cruz responded by calling Ocasio-Cortez a “liar” saying, “Leading a debate in the Senate on ensuring election integrity is doing our jobs, and it’s in no way responsible for the despicable terrorists who attacked the Capitol yesterday,”
Senators Cruz and Hawley have proven their commitment to the American public by showing they will stand for fair elections. They will fight against the extremist movement that the left has planned.
