Here He Goes Again: De Blasio Vows to Stick With Draconian Measures, Yank People out of Water If They Enter NYC Beaches
There may not be a bigger loser in the state of New York than New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. He has been behind the eight ball for months now, failing to not only prepare his city for the coronavirus but to properly address it. He was slacking so bad that Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is far from perfect, had to step in to take charge.
De Blasio has been a child from the start of the crisis. In March, when quarantine measures were in place and social distance was in full swing, De Blasio saw it as an opportunity to take on an empty gym. He continued to work out despite his own warnings of staying at home, and then doubled down on his decision by claiming he needed the exercise.
A few months later, coronavirus cases in New York City are finally going down, but that doesn’t mean there is a light at the end of the tunnel for New Yorkers desperate for a job and income, or even personal leisure. The Mayor has vowed to keep strict measures in place, as non-essential businesses must remain closed.
Mayor de Blasio issued a threat to any NYC beachgoers looking to get out of the house and catch some sun and waves at the ocean: you will be forcefully removed from the water.
“Anyone tries to get in the water, they’ll be taken right out of the water,” said the mayor. “It’s a dangerous situation to ever go in the water if there are no lifeguards present.” Sports will be banned as well as “large” gatherings, and fences will be installed at beaches as well.
The message is clear from the mayor. New Yorkers are discouraged from getting out of the house to get a breath of fresh air, and if they consider acting upon it they will have to be reprimanded by the law, such as being taken out of the water at beaches.
If he hasn’t done it already, it will only be a matter of time before Bill de Blasio asks for a bailout for New York City from the federal bailout over all the massive budget deficits caused from unnecessary prolonged shutdowns. That means you, the American taxpayer, will have to foot the bill.
Democrats can’t have it both ways. You can’t have everything shut down forever and rely on bailouts from the federal government. Perhaps Bill de Blasio’s corrupt administration should be removed from their posts until they learn how to serve and respect the citizens of New York.
